Here are some Bad Habits That Drain Your Energy.
No one is free from all the bad habits. We all have some bad habits in us here and there. Sometimes we are aware of them and other times, we just don’t know that we are living with habits that are draining our energy and ruining our lives. (okay not immediately but things do add up over time).
But what do we even do once we are aware of them? Because in reality changing or quitting long-term habits is really hard. You need consistent energy, effort, and patience to work on them.
And have you noticed your mind wants to do things even more that you *don’t* want to. Yep, we all feel that way.
So in this post, we will talk about some of the bad habits that drain your energy and what you can do instead.
Sleeping Randomly And Waking Up Randomly
There is no doubt that after working for long hours, most of us feel tired and drained at night but instead of mindfully resting, what do we do instead? Play on our phone late at night and wake up at random hours.
I remember when I had to wake up for college VERY early a few years ago, I used to always be in a rush. My routine was like this: wake up, Brush my teeth, get ready, and eat or sometimes even skip breakfast and go to college.
No wonder that this kind of routine won’t make you feel energized all day long. You will feel tired, sleepy, lazy and what not.
I can’t say that you should start waking up at 4 am and spend 3 hours on yourself. That would be cool to think about but not possible for many of us even if you are single, married, or with kids. (If you are someone who can do that, more power to you).
Because even if you can manage to have time, this kind of routine is not sustainable. You might wake up one day but I can’t say how your body will react the next day and What happens most of the time is you wake up one day but when your body feels drained after that, you just go back to your regular routine and stop making any efforts for some time.
(So, we are not making long jumps here).
But I believe that we can make a routine that will help you feel productive and energetic throughout the day.
If I talk about myself I now wake up at around 7.30 am, brush my teeth, repeat some affirmations (in my mind), some basic yoga/stretching, shower and have my breakfast (in which I avoid processed sugar at all cost).
And all this takes me around 30 minutes to 45 minutes and I think we can have that kind of time for ourselves regardless of our schedule.
And if you avoid checking social media/unnecessary scrolling right after waking up, it will save you time that you can spend on yourself.
Most Of Us Overwork
Financial needs are real and sometimes unavoidable. I get that because I have been there. No matter what routine you follow, some days you just have to overwork. So when you have time and less hours at work, make the most of those days so when you have to spend some extra hours at work, your body won’t take a toll.
So when you have some spare time, spend some time with yourself, maybe family and friends, or whatever works for you.
If you want to spend this time on yourself, you can hit a gym, make some new dishes for yourself, make these lists, or go watch a movie by yourself. I believe most of us need to enjoy life. As much as we are tempted to work, we are NOT tempted to live a life. We are wired that way.

We are waiting to hit *that* goal before doing something for ourselves but why not start now? Start with a baby step. Time is more precious.
Most of all, allow yourself to have some free time.
Getting Into People Pleasing and Gossips About Other People
Have you ever noticed that when you try HARD to please others, it not only drains your energy but also you are being someone you are not.
And it comes with unnecessary stress when you think too much about how people see you and think about you.
We are on this planet to live a life, have a purpose, make some good deeds along the way and ultimately make the most out of it.
Similarly, if you don’t know how you want your life to be, it’s easier to get into something that drains your energy and that is GOSSIPING.
And the best way to avoid it is by knowing that we all have our weaknesses, talking about other people’s weak points won’t benefit you in any way. Instead, it’s a big negative energy exchange in my opinion.
So avoid it if you can.
That were some of the bad habits that drain your energy and I hope you make some changes to protect your energy going forward.
