How to Have a Productive Week in 8 Simple Steps
It’s hard to stay productive. We always want to do many things in a short time. but getting nothing done at the end of the day can lead to frustration and stress.
What I think is when we properly plan out tasks, it becomes easier to achieve our goals.
It gets easier when you know what is working for you and what is not and eventually you stop caring about those that are not working out and focus on the once that are working for YOU.
Productivity is not about how many tasks you complete in a day, but how effectively and easily you’re able to do them without overwhelming yourself.
So, here are a few simple ways that I do and really find useful.

How to have a productive week in 8 simple steps.

1- Plan it out on Sunday.
Planning out your weekly goals on Sunday can be beneficial, especially if you’ve a busy schedule.
I can’t get things done when it’s not written down on a paper and that’s why I recommend you to write it down too.
A To-Do list planner or an app such as Trello or Asana can be a good choice to start with.
And this way you will also save some time on Monday morning when you usually rush to the office.
While writing it down, keep your goals realistic otherwise, it will start creating pressure on you.
One thing I like to suggest is to make a long-term goal, and then divide them into monthly, weekly, and daily plans. So you’ll know what exactly you have to focus on right now.

2- Keep it simple and short.
Now that you have planned out everything you want to do in a week. This is a time to turn those plans into action.
The smarter way to do it is to take smaller steps and do one thing at a time.
Avoid multitasking if you can.
I really like to keep things short and simple. Typically, I don’t write more than 3-4 tasks for a day. 2 main tasks and 2 smaller ones. If you have a task that you don’t really enjoy doing, try to complete that first.
If you make a list of 10 tasks, most of the time it’s unrealistic and can make you feel defeated if you couldn’t complete them at the end of the day.
If you focus on 3 things instead of 10, wouldn’t you be able to do them with a more focused mind and the quality of work will also improve, right?
3- Start your day with Affirmations
This is the very first thing I do after waking up in the morning. Affirmations really helps to create a positive mindset and you’ll feel more calm and energetic throughout the day. It barely takes 5 mins.
I also have a blog post on the affirmations that I practice each day you can check that out here! You don’t have to repeat them all. Saying a couple of them will be more than enough.
You can also take an idea from the post and create your own affirmations.
4- Have a morning routine.
Having a morning routine is a must if you want your day and week to be productive.
You won’t have a productive week if you start working on your laptop as soon as you wake up. That is why having a proper morning routine is a must.
I used to be a night owl but I realized that not having time for myself can make me burn out easily and that’s why I started waking up early and spending some time with myself.
You can also do some home workout or yoga.
Going to the gym is also an option if you prefer that but I personally love my home workout as I’m really loving this routine so far.

5- Learn when to say ‘NO’.
Whatever the work, setting healthy boundaries are VERY important. I learned this after making tons of mistakes in the past.
Saying yes when you don’t want to do something leads to tons of pressure and overthinking.Â
And, sometimes people take advantage of you because they know that you are in need and will say yes.
6- Enjoy what you do.
You can’t really be productive if you don’t enjoy your work. If you are working in your 9-5 job (or anything else) and don’t enjoy the work, then you can add any hobby into your to-do list that you love to do.
You can also start a side hustle that can be replaced with your full-time job in the future.
7-Read a book.
This is another great way to stay productive. This is not something we think immediately when talking about productivity, but reading books really helps.
You might think that you don’t really have much time, but 15 minutes in a day will be a good start.

8- Don’t forget to check your progress.
Now is a time to check the progress you’ve made in the week. Be honest with yourself and think about what else you can do to make your upcoming week even better and more productive.
I do it on Sunday before I set goals for the next week.
Conclusion
Those are some tips that I follow and found helpful. Take a break when needed and don’t be hard on yourself because almost nobody can stay productive all the time and you don’t unnecessarily have to feel bad about it. 🙂
