I am sure you have seen these Lucky Girl syndrome videos all over the internet since December, especially on TikTok and Instagram, wondering what it really is and how to get it (or should you really get it? We’ll talk about it in a moment).
What Really is the Lucky Girl Syndrome?
Lucky girl syndrome is all about manifesting things like money, love, luxury, or anything you want in your life through Lucky girl syndrome and affirmations.
If you are a regular reader of my blog, you would know that I have already written posts on how to manifest your dream life and positive affirmation, and I believe that they work.
So what’s the catch here? Attracting your dream life through manifestation and saying affirmations out loud is not a new concept. Is there any difference that is making it so popular on all those social media platforms? Is there any downside to it? And most importantly, should you really get that syndrome?
In my opinion, believing that whatever you believe in, your mind starts attracting it, whether it’s good luck or bad luck.
However, in both cases, “luck” seems to work to a certain extent.
Our lives are not different from social media algorithms. The more we engage with certain things, the more life will start to show things that relate to them.
If you have ever tried affirmations, you know it works. Maybe not immediately, but it helps build a positive self-image which ultimately helps in taking certain actions with confidence to achieve your goals.
And although this might not be a new concept, it is a good reminder that you hold the power to change your life for the better, and everything, even attracting the money and love you desire to have, starts with a thought so why not keep them positive as most of us live a life where we complain and live the unlucky girl syndrome.
Here are some lucky girl affirmations you may want to try:
- I am the most lucky girl in the world.
- The universe is always working with me to help me get what I always dreamt of.
- I believe in good luck.
- Things always work out in my favor.
- I love my life and it’s kind to me.
- I always find opportunities at the right time.
- I am worthy of my dreams and there’s a meaning in it.
- I am ready to receive what I always dreamt of.
- I always get help whenever it’s required from the right sources.
- I am and will always be kind to me.
Lucky Girl Syndrome: Limitations/Cons We Need To Talk About-
While everyone is talking about how wonderful this syndrome is and how one should get it to attract things by affirming them (and I agree that it is) there are downsides that need to be noticed as well.
1. You Have To Put In The Work.
As I mentioned earlier in this post, I too believe in affirmations and manifestations to a certain extent, but it is not everything. Without putting in the work you can not expect to live the life of your dreams. I think you agree with me.
Although this is a great way to work on your mindset and get some positive vibes that can help you have a good start, ultimately, you HAVE to put in the work to see the results.
2. There’s Nothing Wrong With You.
Trust me when I say if you tried affirmations in the past and it did not work out as you wanted, it does not mean you have bad luck, or you were not affirming right or enough or there is anything wrong with you because there isn’t.
Our emotions are very powerful, but everything has its place and limits.
There are many more things that are required to get what you want and live your life the way you want, such as your determination, actions, timing, luck (yes! It’s part of the process but not everything), patience, and persistence.
So, if something is not working, especially in the beginning, it does not mean you are any less than anyone or anything.
3. It Creates Toxic Positivity.
Who doesn’t want to attract positivity into their lives? But at times, you are the only one who knows what is going on in your life, and you are the only one totally aware of your situation. That said, the lucky girl syndrome might not be for you as it can do more harm than good in certain situations and make you more confused and irritated.
When things are not right, you can not make them right by saying affirmations or saying it’s right when it isn’t. You have to accept the fact that the situation is not right, and there are actions you need to take to make them right.
So, it’s okay if it does not fit in your situation. You don’t need to catch it and do what feels right for you.
