It’s been quite a while since I have written any morning routine ideas post so I thought this is a time as we are in the beginning of the year, looking to set and stick to a new routine that improves your life for the better. 

So what is the first thing you do in the morning? Is it snoozing the alarm? Checking your work emails? Or if you work from home starting it as soon as you wake up? 

No wonder most of us feel tired and felt like we could have slept a little more to feel better and fresh. 

(The solution? Start a proper and sustainable night routine).

1) Drink Some Water

I mean it’s always the basics that are most powerful, easier and require little to no efforts. We sometimes look for magical routines that will make us productive, energetic and what not but these basics are the ones that will ultimately set the tone for our day. 

I generally drink one glass of water after waking up and do not add anything. Oh and it’s always a good idea to drink some water before taking caffeine. 

2) What You Think Matters

I never knew this before I started to observe my thought patterns and make some serious changes in the last few years. I never knew that waking up anxiously is not normal. 

How you feel in the morning matters. 

There are always some reasons why you are feeling what you are feeling. I had been waking up anxious for several years in my life and never paid much attention to it because that was normal in my mind. 

But when you start to work on yourself, you understand how bad it was and I am still working on this to this date and that’s the reason I talked about affirmations a lot on this blog.

They aren’t just positive phrases, they are there to reframe your mind so you can make your restless mind calm and see yourself through your eyes and not the others. 

3) Quick Stretching or Yoga 

A lot of us usually rush in the morning and hardly do any physical activity. Usually most of our work requires us to be sitting in one position for many hours straight. 

And then feel dull, don’t feel like doing anything at all, very low energy levels and what not. It’s most likely because we have not even moved our body at all. 

If you have a healthy body, trust me that’s already something to be grateful for and feel rich. So we must appreciate our body and continue to work on it so we can experience new things and live a good quality life.

I know most of us feel and start to appreciate our body when we get sick and can’t even get out of our bed or when we don’t have an appetite for a few days. 

We all have been there. 

So why not thank our bodies for working for us tirelessly, taking so much stress and helping us live a life to see this not-so-perfect but beautiful world. 

4) Fresh Air To Start Your Day 

How many of us actually go out and get some fresh air before we start to work? 

I think it would be very few and if you are working from home, chances are even less but it is a good idea to go out for a little walk or even just sit outside, get sunshine, inhale some fresh air with positivity and enjoy your drink.

5) To-Do List & Intention For The Day

This step is crucial especially if you aren’t happy with your current routine and never get enough time to do things that you want to do or your routine is all messed up.

6) Nutrition Rich Breakfast Is Equally Important

Oh we are talking about working on our bodies and it wouldn’t be fair to not talk about nutrition especially when we are talking about increasing and maintaining good energy levels throughout the day. 

I am definitely not one of those tiktok girls who drink green smoothies everyday and not eat any junk at all. I get cravings too and I eat for the taste too but I try to avoid them for the breakfast.

It is an important meal for the day and eating oily or surgery things will not boost energy. 

Include protein rich food, try and test different dishes so you also don’t compromise on taste while having a good breakfast.
