9 Ways to create a no distractions environment
1) Remove all the clutter around you
When theres clutter around you, it will be tough to focus on one particular task.
A neat and clean environment will help you to calm your mind so you can concentrate on things that need your attention.
If you are working at your desk, remove all the unnecessary stuff like pens that are not working anymore or the other stationary stuff that can easily cause clutter.

2) Turn off notifications while working
How will you focus when you are continuously bombarded with tons of notifications on your phone?
I often turn the notifications off while I write, and as I am writing this post, I turn the notifications off so I can write without getting distracted.
If you want to browse something while working, you may use your laptop and open only one window.
Don’t start checking emails while working unless it’s urgent.
3) Find a place with no noise around
One of the best ways to create a no distractions environment is to find a place that is quiet and free from all noises.
Sitting and working on a couch or bed may seem like a nice idea, but its not the ideal place to work.
You might think a library is a good option, but I believe that its not possible every time you want to get something done, so you can always choose a place at your home that is quiet and where you can work without getting distracted.
TIP– Since I work from home full-time, I observed that when I properly get dressed in the morning, I tend to take my work seriously and focus better than when I am in my sweatpants.
4) Turn off your TV
If you turn the TV on in the background and theres something that is able to capture your attention, you will lose all your focus and start watching it until you realize you had some work to complete.
So its better to turn it off.
5) Set a deadline, focus, & avoid multitasking
Before setting a deadline, its vital to know whats something that needs your attention at this moment. Keep it clear, write it down, and then set deadlines.
Have you ever heard about the Pomodoro technique? If not, then in this technique, you have to work for 25 minutes, take a break for 5 mins and repeat.
If you cant concentrate on your work, then this technique is for you.
6) Choose a well-lit place
Having a well-lit is also essential, whether its natural light or an artificial one. If you are not comfortable, you will distract easily.
7) Avoid multitasking
Oftentimes, multitasking does more harm than good. According to a study, it lowers your overall performance and is not good for your brain.
Our brain can only perform one thing at a time, so even if you think you have been multitasking for years now, then its time to stop it.
You can avoid it by being more aware, so you can organize your thoughts and filter out things that interrupt you.
8) Enjoy your work
If you are really excited by what you are doing, you are less likely to distract from the external environment.
There are many people who dont enjoy what they do, and its quite easy for them to get distracted from their main task.
But just by shifting your mindset from I dont like my work to how to make it interesting can change the whole game.
Here are a few ways to enjoy what you do?
- Have a learning attitude.
- Be creative.
- Connect your work to your long-term vision.
- Having a work/life balance is important.
9) Celebrate your progress
Last but not least, dont forget to celebrate your progress, even the smallest one.
It can boost your confidence to get going and do better than the previous day.
