How To Do A Weekend Reset- 7 Things You Need To Do Before Creating Your Own Weekly Reset Routine
1) Reflect On Your Current Schedule
If you already follow a Sunday reset routine or any weekly routine, reflect on that and assess what is working well and what needs to change.
Is there any area that needs improvement?
Maybe you just need to become more productive and look after yourself on the weekends.
For example, On Sundays you mostly watch Netflix and just relax but just after a couple of hours, you get tired and don’t feel like doing anything at all.
Then you might want to fix that and make some changes in your plans that are relaxing yet productive. (you can check the ideas below).
2) Set your Priorities and Intention
The reality is no matter how much you spend planning and creating the perfect routine if you have no clue why you are doing it in the first place, chances are you’ll stop doing it after a couple of days or when the first challenge arises.
That’s why it’s important to have a clear intention, in fact, I do set intentions every single day with my daily to-do list.
If you want to get serious about changing your routine, I highly recommend you to check out this post on how to set daily intentions and how to set weekly intentions.
You will also find journal prompts to make the process easier.
3) Set Goals And Have A To-Do List
Sunday is all about relaxing and resetting but if you’re anything like me, we tend to forget things pretty easily or get distracted when it’s not organized and written down.
4) Establish a Consistent Reset Time
It’s important to create your own reset time according to your lifestyle. Here are a few ways to help you do that-
- 1) Decide your ideal time (to just get clear in your mind that this is the time you will spend on yourself).
- 2) Set a reminder on your Google calendar.
- 3) Prepare on Saturday.
- 4) Stay away from your electronics during reset time.
- 5) You can either enjoy your time alone or with your family/housemate/friend.
- 6) Be flexible with your routine as you are the boss here lol.
5) Stay Accountable
There are many ways to hold yourself accountable for sticking to your weekly reset routine. This could involve using a planner, calendar, or productivity app to track your progress. Regularly check how well you’re following your routine and add/remove as you go.
My favorite productivity planner, I recommend you to check out-
6) Start Small
If you are creating a routine for the first time, start with a simple weekly reset and slowly add more steps when you start feeling more comfortable with the process. Avoid overwhelming yourself with too many changes at once.
At first, you may just add 2 things you want to try this Sunday and if you’d like you can slowly switch things up and add more.
