How Level8 Luggage Gave My Travel Routine a Fresh Start

If you are anything like me, we are always ready to travel, explore and have some great times. I love doing solo activities as much as I love talking about them. And no, I am not going to count the benefits of traveling here on this post but as travel lovers, we always want our journeys to be more enjoyable and less messier.

And when it comes to traveling, a suitcase plays a huge role. If you search for the right luggage, there are tons of options in the market.

But I mean at the end of the day we have different requirements that we need depending on where we are going and what features we want in our luggage.

This review was created in cooperation with LEVEL8. All opinions are my own.

Oh and if you are wondering, I love the way the describe themselves.

My Travel Routine

Well, I am not a full time traveler (well, not yet), I like to do it a few times a year so if you are a beginner, this is going to be helpful for you especially as I still consider myself a beginner as well and I am learning things as I get into traveling more and more.

So if you are just getting more traveling just as I am. There is nervousness and tons of questions. We ask ourselves which suitcase is great, lightweight, lasts long (of course it’s an investment) and does not cost an arm and leg at the same time while juggling tons of other tasks.

And let me tell you, it’s not easy to find luggage with all that quality that checks all your boxes. (We will get into what is on my checklist in a minute).

That’s the reason I agreed to try and share my opinion on this vibrant voyage level8 luggage suitcase

Why the Little Things Matter So Much

As someone who often travels solo, most of the time I have to stay alert most of the time, I don’t want to stress about my luggage.

My Checklist For Buying A Luggage

1. Size (Cabin or Check-in?)Check-in: 24–28 inches for longer trips. Cabin size: Usually 20–22 inches. Fits in overhead bins. Perfect for 2–4 day trips.

2. Material- Polycarbonate tends to be more durable than other materials like ABS Plastic.

3. WheelsThis one has 4 Spinner wheels That Glide in all directions, no need to tilt. I think it’s great if you have to walk a lot.

4. Wide Handle System– They are SO much better than the ones with mid handles. Unlike typical center-bar handles that eat up packing space, this one runs along the sides of the suitcase — giving you a flat interior base, more room to pack, and a stronger, more balanced grip when rolling.

5. TSA-approved lock is a must for international travel.

6. Good Quality Zip that won’t break easily.

7. Weight– Should be Lightweight so you have more space before you hit the weight limit.

8. Internal Space – Features compression straps, mesh dividers, and zippered pockets. LEVEL8 luggage includes a dedicated compartment for wet clothes, keeping them separate so your clean, dry items stay fresh.

9. Warranty and Customer Support– I might be mentioning this in the last but trust me this is VERY important for me. I want to know if I get into any issues after making a purchase, I will get the support I need.

And LEVEL8 do offer limited lifetime warranty, free and fast shipping and they have a great support team in case you have any questions.

PS: And this Level8 luggage checks all of my boxes.

Why I’m Never Going Back to My Old Luggage

As someone who is petite, I hate when my luggage looks bigger than me. It might sound funny but trust me it’s not. I would hate it if I had to drag those bulky, clunky suitcases through crowded airports. Level8 has done a great job at this. Whether you are petite like me or on the taller side, it would work for you.

Smooth Wheels, No Handle Jamming

To continue my previous point, if there’s any single thing about this luggage I absolutely loved, it has to be its 360 degree wheels and handle. It’s just so easy to use even for someone who isn’t taller.

I’ll keep updating this post as I travel more with this luggage.

Space for Everything—Even My Journal and Snacks

If you hang around here, you would know how much I am into journaling and how I could not. It literally saved me multiple times, so it’s no different when I am traveling. I like to keep my stationary stuff with me.

These are the most important questions that I had as a beginner and I am quite sure most of you are in the same boat so let’s get into it.

FAQs

What size suitcase should I buy for short trips vs. long trips?

For shorter trips, I recommend a 20” luggage. The best part about Level8 is that they offer a variety of size options.

For longer trips, they also have 26”, 28”, and 30” suitcases available. You can get these without compromising on colors and functionality.

What’s the difference between hard-shell and soft-shell luggage?

I believe they have both their pros and cons. Let’s compare them so you can choose which one is better for you.

Soft Shell Luggage:

Pros- They are lightweight, easier to squish into overhead compartments or tight spaces.

Cons- Soft shell luggage often made from fabrics like nylon or polyester. They do not offer the same durability as luggage with a hard shell does (which is crucial if you want to invest once and make the most out of it in the long run).

Hard Shell Luggage:

Pros- Hard shell luggages provides better protection, these are at least splash proof, TSA approved lock system, they are more aesthetically pleasing (in my opinion), and I personally find them easier to pile up.

Cons- You can’t squeeze into tight overhead bins or car trunks, they are often said to be heavier.

But level8 did a really good job at this. These luggages are extremely lightweight.

Should I go for stylish luggage or something more practical?

This is a pretty normal question to ask but I believe it should not be one or the other. You CAN choose a stylish luggage that is also practical. I like to pick a practical suitcase in a sleek, neutral design and matte finish. This time I wanted to try something that is not too common in color.

Do I need a suitcase with a built-in lock?

Yes, you do need it. One because of the security purposes and here are some of the other reasons why:

  • 1) You won’t have to keep track of separate padlocks.
  • 2) No lost keys.
    3) No zip ties (been there, regretted that).
    4) TSA officers can check your bag if you have a TSA-Approved luggage during security checks easily.
  • 5) It’s easier to reset your lock when needed.

Is it better to get a set of suitcases or just one really good one?

Well, it really depends. It depends on how often you travel and what your requirements are. If you travel regularly, long and short trips then I would say it makes sense to get a set WITHOUT especially when you don’t have to worry about quality. You’d also save you some dollars.

Is polycarbonate better than ABS plastic? What even is that?

Ever had a suitcase where it got cracked when it got a big hit while you are traveling? I know because I had one of those kinds in the past. It can be pretty stressful. They can be strong  but if we are comparing ABS Plastic to polycarbonate, then the polycarbonate wins.

And all of the level8 luggages are made from German-made Makrolon® polycarbonate.

And if you are wondering what that is. In simple words- As we already talked about a checklist where we want material, lightweight and flexibility, this luggage checks all of these boxes.

It can handle drops, bumps, and rough handling much better without cracking or breaking which makes it perfect for even crowded places.

How do I make my bag easy to spot at the airport?

Simple, get the one that isn’t too common in color like I did. I love this yellow color, it’s vibrant and easy to spot. Level8 offers a range where they have a separate women luggage section, check out here. Besides yellow, my favorite ones are dark slate Gray, celadon and pink.
