15 Lists to make that will organize your life.
Making lists at the start of the month can make sure you are starting your month on the right foot as it allows you to be more organized and get more done.
If you are anything like me, we tend to forget things and then at the end of the month, it feels that we haven’t done much, and the month is gone already.
But if I make these lists FIRST it gets clear what I want to do then that feeling that tells me I haven’t done much also disappears.
If you struggle with staying productive or organized and easily get burned out, it’s always a good idea to know what else you can do to change that.
PS- You can choose a planner like this to create your lists, it’s undated so you are free to write as you wish to. There are so many options available on Amazon to check out!
There are some lists that I’d recommend making on your phone to keep it handy whenever you go. Let’s get started!
15 Lists To Make At The Beginning Of The Month
1. Goals For The Month
The first list you want to make is about your goals, and what exactly you want to achieve this month. If you are self-employed and/or work from home, it’s even more important as it’s so insanely easy for us to get distracted compared to people who work in the office.
If you’re the one who’s tired of setting goals and never really achieving them. This time try writing down your annual goals and divide them into monthly goals and see the difference you make this time (if you take those smaller steps, you’ll be way ahead this time, I promise.

2. Achievement List From The Previous Month
In this list, you can write all your achievements and every good thing that happened in the previous month.
I don’t know if it’s just me or we all have that tendency to remember bad moments more rather than the good ones.
By making the gratitude list you’ll start your week with positivity and motivation to keep up the good momentum going.
3. Expense List
This list is a priority for me. In the expense list, you want to write your fixed expenses such as rent, grocery expenses, gas, eating out, internet, etc.
This list will help you figure out how much money you can spend on each area so you won’t overspend or spend somewhere you regret later. Very smart list to make if you ask me.
4. Shopping List
This one would be a fun list to make. In this list, you want to write all your wants for the month.
For example- Clothes shopping, getting your nails done, buying that eyeliner or lipstick. Whatever you wish to.
5. Meal Planning / Grocery Shopping List
Making a shopping list is another helpful to those trying to save money or have tight budgets but in short, it’s recommended for everyone as it lets you know what you need to buy so when you go to the shop you don’t forget about it. Also, you will not have to run back and forth to get things because you forgot about it.
Since you don’t want to take your planner with you, you can write this list on your phone.
6. Cleaning List
This cleaning list has been very helpful for me to have a clear home.
You can also create a weekly cleaning list instead of monthly as it will get easier to clean your home every single week rather than overloading yourself all at once.
7. Declutter List
Owning less means you’ll have to spend less time cleaning things.
8. Meeting, Birthdays, and Appointment List
If you can’t remember dates, this one can save you from a lot of trouble. You can make a list in which you will write down important appointment dates, upcoming birthdays for the month, anniversaries, and meetings.
This one may be optional but it can be a good idea if you can’t remember the important dates. You can set alarms instead of writing them down too.
9. Fitness List
This fitness list can help you achieve your long-term fitness goals. You can set your long-term fitness goal and then write down a small doable monthly plan and then at the end of the month track your progress so you can know what went right and wrong for you.
10. Hobby List
A lot of us are interested in so many things. We want to do and experience so many things in life.
It is a good thing. Make a list of hobby ideas that you want to do or experience at least once in your life.

If you have any area of your life that you have neglected for a while now, it’s time to write about it so you can finally make a plan and improve that area. It could be your health or relationships.
12. Books You Already Read
When you write records of books that you’ve already read, you can also write lessons that you learned from that book as well.
13. Books To Read List
Next up, you can make a list of books that you want to read. Here are some of my recommendations: 10 life-changing books to read and 11 manifestation books to achieve your goals.
14. List To Track Your Daily Steps
I wish I had started doing this sooner so I’d be able to know how many steps I am walking daily. Unless you are a fan of tracking records digitally, I’d recommend using a planner for this one.
15. Small Bucket List
Another fun list to write is this small bucket list of places you want to visit this month even if it’s in your city or maybe you want to try a new restaurant?
Those are 15 lists to make at the start of the month, if you found this post helpful, I would love to know.
